Cowboy State Daily Radio update

We’re four months into this live radio/podcast gig I’m doing on Saturday mornings from 6a-10a on Cowboy State Daily Radio https://cowboystatedaily.com/category/live-radio/. Heard/seen on YouTube, Facebook Live, X Live and three broadcast stations (soon to be five) in Wyoming. We’re the radio side of  Cowboystatedaily.com  the “online newspaper” that us Wyomingites go to for news, weather, sports, entertainment and opinion.

Its been a challenge, but a good one.  Back in August of 2023 it seemed I had walked away from radio for good.  Got my real estate license, went to work for Century 21 BHJ in Sheridan (still an agent folks, call me), But as Michael Corleone said “they keep pulling me back in”! Jimmy Orr a founder and Executive Editor of CSD, created CSD Radio with Jake Nichols weekday mornings, yours truly on Saturdays and soon to launch the Sunday morning show with Jeff Rickett.

Weekends are a little more fun, a little entertainment, a little sports, lifestyles, relationships and a little less hard news & politics. That doesn’t mean we won’t, cuz sometimes ya gotta. For example, one of my favorite and most interesting interviews involved an Israeli citizen live from his bunker/bomb shelter in Jerusalem on the day that the U.S. dropped the bunker buster bombs on Iran’s nuclear facilities.  Contrast that with a two standup comedians, 3 musicians/singers with guitars, 2 hot air balloon pilots, business owners, radio personalities, cowboys, Pastors, Coaches, even an ex-con drug running pilot from Thermopolis Wyoming!  A new topic, a new guest every hour.

Booking that 6am hour on a Saturday can be a challenge.  “Hey, let’s do a live podcast on your day off at at six in the morning”.  Many a “beat it Baggs” from Mountain and Pacific time zone folks. So, you’ll notice I hit the Europeans, the east coast and sometimes the central time zone for a guest. And on occasion it’s just little ol me for the entire 6a hour.  Yep, just me…on a topic that I can fill an hour with.  And there are a few! My topic, my opinions, my observations, my sarcasm…yeah it’s your lucky day when that happens 😉
